Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologists are responsible for the use of radiofrequencies within a magnetic field for diagnostic, therapeutic or research purposes. MRI technologists perform magnetic resonance imaging and acquire and analyze data needed for diagnosis at the request of and for interpretation by a licensed practitioner. MRI technologists independently perform or assist the licensed practitioner in the completion of magnetic resonance imaging procedures. MRI technologists prepare, administer and document activities related to medications in accordance with federal and state laws, regulations, or lawful institutional policy.

One Of The Following Certifications Is Required Upon Hire
New graduates must obtain ARRT‑R registry or primary ARRT‑MR or NMTCB or ARMRIT prior to first day of employment.
Applicants hired after March 10, 2024, must complete steps required for advancing to level 2, including advanced certification, within 24 months.
Graduate from Specialty Training Program‑Radiologic Technology (Required), Bachelor's Degree‑Related Field of Study (Preferred)
Minimum of 1 year‑Related work experience (Preferred)
Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist - Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB); Basic Life Support Certification - Default Issuing Body; Radiography (R) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT); Certified MRI Technologist - American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT)
