Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking an MRI Technologist at a Wisconsin hospital to operate MR equipment for basic and intermediate diagnostic procedures including MSK, neuro, and body imaging. You will obtain histories, administer contrast under Radiologist guidance, and ensure image quality and correct labeling.

Responsibilities include patient positioning, QA, record-keeping, and on-call shifts. The role requires MRI certification and strong safety and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of cross sectional anatomy and magnetic safety.
  • Competent in IV and venipuncture (if required by facility).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and patient service skills to work effectively with physicians, patients and other staff members.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
  • Certification Addendum
  • Team members will maintain annual educational requirements for hospital based certifications (e.g.DNV, CARF or others).

Responsibilities

  • Operates magnetic resonance (MR) equipment to perform basic and intermediate diagnostic procedures including musculoskeletal, neurological, body, and small joint imaging.
  • Obtains patient history, ensures exam accuracy, and administers contrast media under Radiologist supervision.
  • Positions patient and adjusts scanning factors to obtain needed images; ensures magnet safety.
  • Post-processes images and labels them with patient and study details.
  • Maintains patient and study records in the radiology information system and documents billing codes.
  • Identifies equipment issues and performs QA tests; reports malfunctions.
  • Performs patient positioning and transporting duties with lifting and pushing.
  • Demonstrates age-appropriate patient care and life span considerations.
