The role requires graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology or MRI program and 0–2 years of MRI experience, with ARRT or ARMRIT eligibility and BCLS certification.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology or MRI program.
  • 0-2 years of clinical experience as a registered MRI Technologist.
  • ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists required or ARMRIT certification or eligible and obtained within 12 months of hire.
  • BCLS - Basic Life Support required

Responsibilities

  • Performs MRI procedures according to physician orders and departmental protocols, ensuring high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Reviews MRI patient questionnaires and histories to identify contraindications.
  • Operates MRI and processing equipment, adhering to safety guidelines and protocols.
  • Educates and prepares patients for MRI exams, addressing questions and ensuring comfort.
  • Ensures MRI safety standards and zones, verifies patient and staff readiness.
  • Documents and correlates clinical history with exam findings for radiologist review.
  • Maintains inventory of MRI supplies and equipment; ensures sterility.
  • Verifies physician orders and patient identification before starting procedures.
  • Collaborates with radiologists and healthcare team for optimal imaging outcomes.
  • Monitors MRI equipment functionality and reports issues promptly.
  • Provides instructions and support to patients during and after exams.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and maintains reliable attendance.

Essential Functions
  • Performs MRI procedures according to physician orders and departmental protocols, ensuring high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Reviews MRI patient questionnaires and patient histories to identify potential contraindications such as implants or foreign bodies, ensuring safety during scans.
  • Operates MRI and processing equipment proficiently, adhering to established safety guidelines and protocols.
  • Educates and prepares patients for MRI exams, addressing questions and alleviating concerns to ensure patient understanding and comfort.
  • Ensures compliance with MRI safety standards, including maintaining MRI safety zones and verifying patient and staff readiness before entering scan areas.
  • Documents and correlates clinical history with exam findings, ensuring accurate and complete information is available for the radiologist.
  • Maintains inventory of MRI supplies and equipment, ensuring availability and sterility as required.
  • Verifies physician orders and patient identification prior to starting procedures to ensure accuracy and adherence to hospital protocols.
  • Collaborates with radiologists, physicians, and healthcare team members to ensure optimal imaging results and patient outcomes.
  • Monitors and maintains MRI equipment functionality, reporting issues promptly to appropriate personnel.
  • Provides instructions and support to patients during and after exams to promote understanding and satisfaction.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology or MRI program required
  • 0-2 years of clinical experience as a registered MRI Technologist required
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

Licenses and Certifications
