Renown Health in Reno, NV seeks an MRI technologist to produce diagnostic MRI scans and assist radiologists and referring physicians in procedures while providing compassionate patient care. Operate MRI equipment across inpatient and outpatient settings, apply MRI physics concepts, ensure safety, document exams, manage contrast media, and maintain HIPAA confidentiality while delivering high-quality images.
The role may require after-hours standby and ongoing competency checks to ensure top-tier
This position produces diagnostic MRI scans, assists the radiologist and referring physicians in MRI procedures, and ensures patient care while representing the Purpose of Renown Health.
The major challenges to this position include being able to understand and apply the technical skills and advanced physics required to operate the MRI scanner in an efficient, safe and accurate manner.
The incumbent must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical, motor/sensory, psychosocial, and safety appropriate to patients served ranging in age from infant, child, adolescent, adult and geriatric, and meet standards of quality as measured by the unit/department age-specific competency standards.
The incumbent will be asked to perform other job duties related to Renown Imaging as needed, including after-hours standby and callback time.
This position has the authority to make technical decisions that will provide the best possible MRI image quality.
This position must be proficient in the use of various MRI scanning equipment. This position will require training and general knowledge attained to operate all MRI manufacturers, including both inpatient and outpatient.
The position is further challenged to maintain accuracy; communicate effectively with different types of people; to function efficiently and pleasantly under pressure; to identify and maintain priorities and to respond to simultaneous requests and demands from many people while remaining courteous and professional.
High standards of diplomacy and respect for confidentiality (HIPAA) are essential.

Description
Education:
Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English. Requires completion of an AMA approved two-year Radiology program with an AS degree in radiology. Applicants who have graduated from a four-year program with a BS RT will be given preference.
Experience:
Technologists with clinical or hospital-based MRI experience gained through a minimum two years of on-site training is required. Training of individuals who have a background of five recent years in Radiologic specialties is preferred.
License(s):
Ability to obtain registry with either American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) within 16 months of hire.
Certification(s):
BLS certification by American Heart Association within 60 days of hire.
Computer / Typing:
Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
