Job summary

Indiana University Health seeks an MRI technologist to ensure patient safety and high-quality imaging. You will screen for ferromagnetic objects, educate patients, obtain IV access, and administer contrast when needed.

You will collaborate with radiologists to adjust scanning protocols, perform routine QC on MRI equipment, and document findings in the EMR. Prior MRI experience is preferred; BLS certification is required, with MR certification within 12 months.

Qualifications

  • 0–3 years of relevant experience.
  • BLS certification through AHA is required.
  • MRI experience preferred.
  • Advanced MR certification within 12 months of hire.
  • May require ISDH license if applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Screen patients for safety concerns (ferromagnetic objects, implanted devices).
  • Educate patients on what to expect and ensure comfort during scans.
  • Obtain IV access, prepare and administer contrast as needed.
  • Perform routine QC and ensure MRI equipment is functioning properly.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and referring physicians.
  • Document information in EMR and assist with procedures as needed.
