Job Summary:

Under general supervision, responsible for operating MRI scanner(s) for diagnostic imaging purposes, aiding in the diagnosis and treatment of pathology.

Work Hours:

Every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday). The total hours needed will be 18 hours. Weekday coverage will vary based on clinic needs.

This position is Shift Differential Eligible.

Job Duties:
  • Operates a magnetic resonance scanner to obtain images for use by physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of pathologies.
  • Transfers, positions, and instructs patients regarding the procedure.
  • Selects appropriate imaging techniques; operates console and peripheral hardware; enters and monitors patient data.
  • Transfers images from disk to magnetic media to produce transparency.
  • Develops film in automatic processor and inspects for quality and completeness.
  • Performs quality assurance on magnetic resonance equipment and matrix camera.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
Education:

Associate's degree and graduation from an approved AMA school of Radiologic Technology are required.

Experience:

One (1) year of related experience is required.

Additional Licenses and Certifications:

Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required.
