Job summary

St. David's North Austin Medical Center is seeking an MRI Technologist to join our team on a PRN basis. You will perform MRI scans and assist in radiographic procedures to support diagnosis while ensuring patient comfort and safety.

Required ARRT MR certification and BLS with 1–2 years of experience preferred. You will work in a multi-specialty hospital within the St. David’s HealthCare system in Texas.

Qualifications

• MRI technologist operates MRI equipment and performs imaging procedures.
• Provides instruction and care to patients to minimize anxiety and obtain accurate results.
• Completes required forms and uses Meditech for documentation and record-keeping.
• Labels and organizes images per protocol for interpretation by radiologists.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for MRI procedures and provide clear instructions.
• Complete documentation in forms and Meditech.
• Administer contrast using proper technique.
• Produce scans of diagnostic quality.
• Label and identify images per protocol.

Job Summary And Qualifications

As an MRI Technologist, you will perform MRI scans and take radiographs according to the standards and practices set forth by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists to assist in diagnosis or treatment. Performs Magnetic Resonance procedures to demonstrate cross-sectional anatomical images for interpretation by or at the request of a licensed practitioner. Provides appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure.

• You will prepare patients for procedures; providing instructions in order to obtain desired results, gain cooperation and minimize anxiety
• You will complete required documentation on forms, logs, work station and Meditech
• You will administer contrast using proper technique
• You will produce scans of optimal diagnostic quality on patients
• You will label images and identify according to protocol
• You will communicate pertinent information to interpreting radiologist in a timely manner

Experience

• One – two years’ experience as an MRI Technologist - preferred

Education

• Graduate of an educational program in radiology or MRI accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) OR graduate of an American Medical Association approved program in Radiologic Technology or MRI OR an American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (ARMIT) degree program OR military training program of equivalent standards

Licenses and Certifications

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per St. David’s Healthcare policy
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (ARRT (MR))
• Current Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) certification with Texas Medical Board (TMB) - preferred
