Job summary

Virtua Health in Voorhees, NJ is seeking a part-time MRI Technologist to perform MRI procedures in accordance with established radiologist protocols. You will operate MRI equipment safely, ensure proper patient identification and screening, and administer contrast as needed.

The ideal candidate has prior MRI experience and a graduate degree from an accredited Radiologic Technology program. ARRT or MR licensure is required or as specified by the role, with CPR certification preferred.

• Previous MRI experience preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
• Certification/licensure requirements: ARRT or equivalent MR certification as specified by role

Responsibilities

• Perform high quality MRI studies per radiologist protocols and document results.
• Verify patient identity and orders; screen for safety and projectile risk; document assessments and contrast administration.
• Provide excellent patient and staff service; communicate clearly with all customers with professionalism.
• Follow safety guidelines and Virtua policies in MRI operation

Summary:

Performs MRI procedures in accordance with approved techniques and standards.

Operates MRI equipment in a safe and responsible manner, following appropriate safety guidelines.

Position Responsibilities:

• Consistently performs high quality MRI studies according to protocols established by the Radiologists. Films all MRI exams utilizing proper window and level. Follows protocol for room set-up, obtains patient assessment form and injection procedures. Demonstrates competence to perform venipuncture and follows established protocols for administering contrast medium.
• Verify order and patient identification before performing MRI exam. Screen all patients for medical appropriateness of MRI procedure as well as for potential projectiles before entrance into the exam room. Patient assessment form must be completed and validated before patient enters MRI room.
• Provide superior customer service to patients and personnel. Must be able to effectively communicate with all customers; display high degree of tact and diplomacy and maintain supportive relationships.
• Follows appropriate safety guidelines during operation of MRI equipment. Adheres to Virtua policies and procedures.

Position Qualifications Required / Experience Required:

Previous MRI experience preferred.

Required Education:

Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology

Training/Certifications/Licensure:

• Certification as either
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registered plus six (6) months supervised experience in MR scanning, OR
• Associate's/bachelor's degree in allied health field plus other imaging modality certification plus six (6) months supervised MR scanning, OR
• ARMRIT or CAMRT as a Registered MR Technologist - for employees in the role prior to 8/30/26

MRI board certification preferred

CPR certification required

Hourly Rate: $53.00
