Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a Registered MRI Technologist to maintain safety in the MRI environment while performing routine MRI procedures and mentoring junior staff. The role requires ARRT/ARMRIT/CAMRT registration and MRI-specific experience, with flexibility for varied shifts.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• ARRT, ARMRIT or CAMRT MR technologist registration is required.
• 6 months supervised MRI clinical scanning experience or equivalent
• Advanced MRI certifications within two years of employment preferred
• Strong knowledge of MRI procedures and related terminology

Responsibilities

• Verify physician orders and procedures for accuracy.
• Utilize radiology information systems to support patient care.
• Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding.
• Independently operate MRI equipment according to protocol (including IV).
• Review images for diagnostic quality before transmission.
• Perform quality control procedures and address issues as needed.
• Assist in departmental operations (inventory, staffing, equipment maintenance).
• Adapt communication and procedure explanations to patient population and privacy requirements.
• Other related duties as required.
