MRI Technologist – Part‑Time – Days/Evenings FLEX

Roles and Responsibilities

• Completes all steps involved with the exams including documentation of patient history, tech info, contrast info, and IV injection info, and scanning paperwork packs into the system.
• Follows all MRI safety policies consistently for staff and patients.
• Consistently follows patient identification policy: labeling syringes when loading with date, time, contrast, and initials; follows all P+P regarding use of ISTAT (per sites worked).
• Demonstrates knowledge of MR department procedures and protocols by setting acquisition factors for optimal image quality, evaluating images for quality, and accurately following physicians’ instructions.
• Assesses stock levels and enters stock/pantry orders in the computer system.

Required Skills and Experience

• Education: Minimum of an Associate’s degree in Radiologic Sciences program. ARRT Certification in MRI.
• Licensure: ARRT credentials for Diagnostic Imaging and NYS license. Must receive the enhanced NYS license for injection on or before completion of the introductory period.
• Experience: Preference for two years’ experience, but new graduates are welcomed.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Problem‑solving ability and attention to detail is preferred.
• Good written and oral communication skills preferred.
• Requires ability to prioritize work, manage time wisely and adjust to changes in work volumes.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand/sit for long periods while performing ultrasound studies. Ability to push ultrasound equipment throughout the hospital for bedside testing.

Location and Travel Requirements

• Onsite at Cayuga Medical Center: 101 Dates Dr, Ithaca, NY 14850. This position will be supporting patient needs throughout our Healthcare System, and may be scheduled to work at our Main, East, and/or Cortland Campuses.
• Shift: Part‑time – Days/Nights Flex. Anticipated schedule 12pm‑12am, Mondays and Tuesdays. Rotating weekends and flexibility to take rotating call as required. Ability to flex according to patient and department needs.
• 0%‑5% travel can be expected in this role.

Pay Range Disclosure

• Standard rate of $36.00 to $54.00 per hour, plus benefits.
• Shift differentials for evenings, nights and weekends according to schedule.
