Job summary

Cayuga Medical Center, part of Cayuga Health, is seeking a part-time MRI Technologist to perform exams and document patient histories in a busy radiology department in Ithaca, NY.

Requirements include ARRT MRI certification, Associate degree in Radiologic Sciences, NYS license with enhanced injection, and two years’ experience preferred; new grads welcome. Onsite shifts with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Radiologic Sciences and ARRT MRI certification are required.
• NYS license with enhanced injection before end of introductory period.
• 2+ years of MRI experience preferred; new graduates welcome.

Responsibilities

• Completes exams including documentation of patient history, tech and contrast information, and IV details.
• Scan paperwork into the system and follow MRI safety policies consistently.
• Label syringes with date, time, contrast and initials per policy.
• Set acquisition factors for optimal image quality and evaluate images.
• Follow physician instructions and maintain stock levels in the department.

And scanning paperwork packs into the system.Follow all MRI safety policies consistently for staff and patients.Consistently follow patient identification policy: Labeling syringes when loading with date, time, contrast, and initials. Follow all P+P regarding use of ISTAT (Per sites worked)Demonstrate knowledge of MR department procedures and protocols by setting acquisition factors for optimal image quality, evaluating images for quality, and accurately following physicians instructions.Assesses stock levels and enters stock/pantry orders in computer system.Required Skills and Experience:Education : Minimum of Associates degree, Radiologic Sciences program. ARRT Certification in MRI.Licensure : ARRT credentials for Diagnostic Imaging and NYS license. Also must receive the enhanced NYS license for injection, on or before completion of introductory period.Experience : Preference of two years' experience, but new graduates welcomed.P referred Skills and Experience:Problem solving ability and attention to detail is preferredGood written and oral communication skills preferred.Requires ability to prioritize work, manage time wisely and adjust to changes in work volumes.Physical Requirements:Ability to stand/sit for long periods while performing ultrasound studies. Ability to push ultrasound equipment throughout hospital for bedside testing.Location and Travel Requirements:Onsite at Cayuga Healthcare System. Based at Cayuga Medical Center, 101 Dates Dr, Ithaca, NY 14850.
