Job summary

Dignity Health – Yavapai Regional Medical Center in Prescott, AZ is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform high-quality MRI examinations, prep patients, operate advanced MRI equipment and uphold safety standards. You will help produce detailed anatomical images to support accurate diagnoses.

The role requires expert MRI knowledge, meticulous image quality, and strong patient communication to ensure a comfortable diagnostic experience across a regional imaging network.

Qualifications

• Graduate of AMA approved school of radiological technology.
• Registered Technologist Magnetic Resonance Imaging (RTMR).
• ARMRIT MRI (ARMRIT) certification.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS-CPR).

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for scans and operate MRI equipment to capture high-quality images.
• Ensure patient safety in the magnetic environment and follow radiation protection practices.
• Demonstrate expert MRI technical proficiency and attention to image detail.
• Document examination times, history, room number and technique factors; assist with billing.
• Inject contrast media and apply cross-sectional anatomy knowledge during imaging.

Job Summary And Responsibilities

As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for performing high-quality magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) examinations to assist in diagnosing medical conditions.

Every day you will prepare patients for scans, operate advanced MRI equipment, ensure patient safety in the magnetic environment, and accurately capture detailed anatomical images.

To be successful, you will demonstrate expert technical proficiency in MRI, meticulous attention to detail for image quality and safety, and excellent patient communication to ensure a comfortable and effective diagnostic experience.

• Displays competency operating equipment including performing procedures. Determines test procedures according to purpose of examination.
• Updates patient examination history file, records unusual conditions/limitations, documents examination time, room number and technique factors. Completes examination and billing procedures as required.
• Utilizes good magnetic field safety practices for patients, self and others by use of available radiation protection devices. Ensure badges are worn appropriately and readings are available.
• Displays a thorough knowledge of anatomy, positioning and of various drugs and contrast media utilized.
• Displays competency injecting contrast media. Fully competent in cross sectional anatomy knowledge pertaining to MRI.
• Accurately marks all images as necessary. Assures that the patient information is clearly visible. Performs visual preventive safety inspections of patient and equipment prior to entering MRI.
