Job summary

Christiana Care Health System is seeking an MRI Technologist in Delaware. The role requires ARRT registration, MRI certification within 2 years, and state radiation licensure. You will perform MRI procedures, ensure safety, and manage patient data.

Flexibility to travel to Newark, Middletown, Smyrna as needed; hours are first shift 7:45a-4:15p Monday-Friday; good customer service and Cerner experience desirable; post end date Sep 30, 2026.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate MRI units and related systems per protocol.

• Enter patient data accurately into care systems.
• Coordinate workflow and patient care activities.
• Verify insurance pre-authorization prior to scanning.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and safety.

Shift hours:

• 7:45a-4:15p, Monday -Friday.
• Southern float to Newark, DE, Middletown, DE and Smyrna, DE.

Responsibilities:

• Demonstrates complete knowledge and proficiency in the use of MRI units, radiology supported computer systems and CD burners.
• Performs MRI procedures and quality control as defined by departmental protocols.
• Performs MRI safety screenings for patients and research implanted devices prior to scanning.
• Maintains compliance with local, state, and federal regulations in ACR and state licenses. Complies with Joint Commission regulations.
• Completes all technical assigned imaging and non-imaging procedures in the designated scheduled times.
• Enters accurate patient study information into the clinical care systems.
• Assist with the coordination of workflow and patient care activities.
• Obtain clinical history regarding reason for examination and obtains appropriate consent.
• Verifies insurance pre-authorization as defined by departmental protocols prior to scanning patient.
• Maintains patient confidentially.
• Uses 2 patient identifiers at all times.
• Demonstrates ability to obtain IV access.
• Ability to assess patient for adverse reactions and/or changes in patient status.
• Demonstrates complete knowledge and proficiency in the use of contrast media injectors.
• Demonstrates knowledge and ability to perform i-STAT testing and accurate calculation of GFR following established departmental policies and procedures.

Requirements:

• MR Technologist-experience required.
• ARRT Registered Technologist required.
• ARRT Advanced MRI Certification required within 2 years of hire.
• Cerner training required.
• Excellent customer service/telephone skills required.
• Flexibility in hours is required.
• Flexibility to work at alternate locations as needed.
• Ability to work independently.

Education Requirements:

• Completion of ARRT registry in radiologic technology required (two-year accredited program).
• Completion of ARRT registry in MRI required (achieved within two years of hire).
• State Licensure on Radiation Protection is required.
• Completion of formal and/or on the job training on cross sectional anatomy.
• An Associate's degree is required; candidates are required to attain an An Associatesof Sciencedegree (can be substituted within a related field), within three (3) years of their start date as outlinedin the Education Agreement required to be signed as a condition of employment.
• Certification in CPR.
• Yearly PEEPS certification required for proper and safe positioning and transfer of patients.

Special Requirements:

• State Licensure on Radiation Protection is required.
• The successful completion of the MRI Registry exam is a job requirement. A technologist, who is recruited and non-certified, will have a grace period of 2 years following hire to pass this exam.
• Completion of IV training course.

The pay is $37.38 to $51.40 based on experience.This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare's good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
