Job summary

Tampa General Hospital, Inc. seeks an MRI Technologist II to perform MRI procedures under Radiologist direction, ensuring technical excellence and patient safety. The role requires adherence to established practices, supervision levels, and teamwork within the Radiology/Imaging Services department.

On-site, full-time position located in Crystal River, with on-call duties as needed. Requires ARRT registration and MRI registry, plus BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Completion of a two-year Radiologic Technologist Program.
• Three years of experience as an MRI Technologist preferred.
• BLS from American Red Cross or American Heart Association; ARRT registration; MRI registration with second modality.

Responsibilities

• Under Radiologist supervision, performs MRI procedures following approved guidelines.
• Prepare and position patients, operate MRI equipment, and ensure patient safety.
• Aids other technical specialties within the department as competency allows.
• On-call shifts are required at the Radiology Director's discretion.

Description

The Advanced Imaging Technologist participates in technical duties directly involved with all modalities in which they are registered including developing, initiating, and monitoring procedures for the effective utilization of the units. The Advanced Imaging Technologist actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

All duties are performed in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Under the direction of a Radiologist, performs MRI procedures at a technical level requiring no constant supervision of technical detail. Performs a variety of technical procedures, following established guidelines, with ingenuity and initiative as required to prepare a diagnostic examination. Assumes responsibility for designated areas and/or procedures as required or assigned. Will be required to aid other technical specialties within the department, as appropriate to competency, registration and licensure. Other duties as assigned. On call shifts required at the discretion of the Radiology Director.

• Completion of a two years Radiologic Technologist Program

Experience

• Three years of experience as an MRI Technologist preferred.

Licenses/Certifications

• BLS from American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• Registered ARRT
• MRI Registered as well as a registry within the second modality of coverage
