Job summary

BJC Outpatient Imaging is seeking an experienced MRI Technologist for a full-time position at our brand-new outpatient imaging center in Sunset Hills, MO. You will perform MRI exams, ensure patient safety, and collaborate with physicians to deliver high-quality diagnostic images.

The role requires ARRT or ARMIT MR certification, an associate degree in radiology, and state licensure. You will work 7:30 AM–4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, providing compassionate care in a fast-paced

Qualifications

  • Must have up to 5 years experience as an MRI Technologist.
  • Minimum Associate Degree in Radiology or graduate of a two-year radiology program.
  • ARRT/ARMIT MR registration and state licensure required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine to advanced MRI examinations following imaging protocols.
  • Produce high-quality diagnostic images for interpretation.
  • Review patient history, verify orders, and prepare patients for MRI.
  • Administer contrast media, venipuncture, and IV access as appropriate.
  • Adhere to MRI safety and screening procedures.
  • Evaluate image quality and ensure proper patient identification.
  • Respond to MRI emergencies, including quench procedures.
  • Maintain equipment, QA standards, and exam room readiness.
  • Educate patients and collaborate with clinicians to provide care.

About The Role

As an MRI Technologist, you will perform routine to advanced MRI examinations in a state-of-the-art outpatient imaging center while providing exceptional patient care. Working under the direction of the Radiology Medical Director, you will utilize advanced MRI technology to produce high-quality diagnostic images, ensure patient safety, and collaborate with physicians and the imaging team to deliver outstanding clinical care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and complex MRI examinations following established imaging protocols.
  • Produce high-quality diagnostic images for physician interpretation.
  • Review patient history, verify exam orders, and prepare patients for MRI procedures.
  • Administer contrast media, perform venipuncture, and maintain IV access as appropriate.
  • Ensure MRI safety by following established screening procedures and safety standards.
  • Evaluate image quality and ensure accurate patient identification and documentation.
  • Recognize and respond appropriately to MRI emergency situations, including quench procedures.
  • Maintain equipment, quality assurance standards, and exam room readiness.
  • Educate patients and collaborate with physicians and fellow team members to provide exceptional outpatient care.
Requirements

EXPERIENCE:

  • Up to 5 years experience as a MRI Technologist

EDUCATION:

  • Must have a minimum Associates Degree in Radiology or be a graduate of an accredited two-year radiology program.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Must be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiography, or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMIT) and maintain current valid registration from ARRT or ARMIT. MR advanced registration through ARRT or ARMIT is required upon hire for IDTF centers. Non-IDTF centers require MR advanced registry within the first 12 months of employment. Additionally, must meet the state licensure requirement for the state in which they practice.

SKILLS/ABILITIES
  • Knowledge of routine to complex MRI procedures and protocols.
  • Skill in operation of MRI equipment as well as applicable ancillary equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and multitask.
  • Ability to provide documentation accurately and concisely.
  • Demonstrates understanding of human cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, pathology, radiopharmacology, and medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of computer applications, including information and billing systems, keyboard input, digital archiving, and retrieving of data.
