Stony Brook Southampton Hospital is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform MRI imaging across all ages and follow safety procedures. The role includes patient prep, contrast administration, and documenting procedures. Travel to off-site locations may be required, and weekend/holiday rotations are expected.

The position emphasizes proficiency in MRI technology, cross-sectional anatomy, and collaboration with physicians to deliver diagnostic images for patient care.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited Radiology Program.
• ARRT/NYSDOH License.
• Current BLS provider certification from the American Heart Association.
• Certified to do contract injections.
• Specialized training in MRI Technology and cross-sectional anatomy.
• Ability to sustain prolonged periods of sitting, walking, lifting, pulling and/or positioning and transferring patients.

Responsibilities

• MRI Tech operates the MRI equipment, prepares patients for procedures, and ensures that enough information has been obtained to make a diagnosis, assist in the management of patients and present images to the physician for diagnosis.
• Intravenous therapy/contrast selection and injection.
• Prepare and enter written documentation as required by the department, such as informed consent.
• Float to off-sites as needed
• Rotating weekends and holidays required.
