Job summary

Wellstar Health System, Inc. is seeking an MRI Technologist for the West Region Float Team who will perform MRI exams across multiple facilities with a focus on safety and patient comfort.

The role offers a flexible schedule and opportunities to utilize full skill sets in a high-volume imaging environment. The position requires ARRT-MR and ARRT-R certifications, plus BLS, with at least two years of hospital Radiologic Technologist experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist in a hospital setting.
• ARRT-R, ARRT-MR, and BLS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Perform MRI exams and produce diagnostic-quality images per established protocols.
• Verify orders, collect relevant clinical history, complete MRI safety screening, and assess contraindications.
• Confirm patient identity per policy; ensure accurate documentation, labeling, and required markers.
• Prepare patients for exams; explain procedures using AIDET and maintain privacy, comfort, and dignity.
• Apply MRI safety practices at all times (magnet safety, access control, hearing protection, safety devices).

Job Summary

The Wellstar Diagnostic Float Team (WEST Team) supports a variety of imaging services across our facilities. Region One includes Kennestone Hospital, North Fulton Hospital, and Windy Hill. As an MRI Technologist for Region One, you will apply your expertise to deliver safe, high-quality imaging and a supportive patient experience at each location you serve. If you prefer a role that avoids routine, lets you use your full skill set, and provides straightforward pay, this could be a strong fit.

Pay

In return for stepping in where you’re needed most, Float Pool members earn a higher base rate and may be eligible for a float incentive.
