Akumin is seeking an MRI Technologist to produce cross-sectional images for diagnostic interpretation. You will perform MRI procedures, acquire data, and assist licensed practitioners in complex imaging tasks while documenting in the EMR and ensuring patient safety.
The role requires ARRT(MR) certification, state license if applicable, and BLS/ACLS. Responsibilities include safety, image quality, and collaboration across departments; opportunities to train technologists are available.
$5,000 sign on bonus included. As an MRI Technologist, you are required to produce cross-sectional images for medical interpretation through radiofrequencies within a magnetic field for diagnostic purposes. The technologist performs MRI procedures by acquiring and analyzing data needed for diagnosis at the request of and for interpretation by a licensed practitioner. The technologist independently performs or assists a licensed practitioner in the completion of magnetic resonance imaging procedures. Technologists prepare, administer and document activities related to contrast administration in accordance with federal and state laws, regulations, or lawful institutional policy. They will interact with all healthcare staff, many clerical staff members, all patient care departments and with patients' families and visitors through oral communication and documentation in the patients' electronic medical record. This position is held accountable for performing the correct MRI exams and producing high quality diagnostic images, while maintaining proficiency and complying with company policies and procedures. This role requires a commitment to patient-centered, compassionate care - creating a positive experience by maintaining clear communication, ensuring comfort, and upholding the highest safety standards throughout the imaging process.

The employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions during transport of patients if working on a mobile unit. The employee will be exposed to a strong magnetic field. May be exposed to blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
