Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform MRI scans, verify orders, and prepare patients with clear explanations. You will review medical history, assist radiologists, and ensure safety protocols are followed in a fast-paced MRI suite.

Requires ARRT MRI registry eligibility or ARMRIT, ARRT-recognized radiologic education, and BLS certification. Work schedule includes Friday through Sunday, 12:00 PM to 12:30 AM, with a 36-hour week.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ARRT-recognized Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine program.
• MRI registry must be obtained within 1 year of hire; ARRT MRI registry eligible or ARMRIT program required.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Examines requests and verifies orders; refers discrepancies to Radiologist before exam.
• Identifies patient and prepares them with a clear procedure explanation; documents on worksheets.
• Interviews patients for medical history; reviews EMR to obtain pertinent clinical history.
• Performs MRI scanning and assists physicians/PA; maintains sterile technique.
• Maintains safety by following radiation safety guidelines and reports equipment issues.
