Job summary

Abington Memorial Hospital is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform diverse magnetic resonance imaging procedures and operate scanners for diagnostic purposes. You will prepare information for physicians, educate patients before, during and after imaging, and ensure safety throughout the workflow.

The role requires ARRT certification, solid radiography knowledge, and ability to monitor patient reactions. A current BLS credential is expected, with potential travel between Jefferson sites as

Qualifications

• Specialized Diploma Graduate of an approved ARRT program or
• High School Diploma/GED with ARRT certification
• Knowledge of radiography tools, techniques and applications
• Knowledge of and ability to prepare patients for diagnostic imaging and monitor reactions
• BLS - Basic Life Support (AHA)

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff according to Jefferson values
• Evaluates technical image quality (density, contrast, definition)
• Maintains safe positioning of patient and equipment during contrast flow
• Instructs patients on MRI procedures and communicates effectively
• Determines equipment needs based on physician diagnoses and scout films
• Maintains MRI equipment with cleaning, testing and documentation
• Implements MRI safety guidelines during imaging
• Performs related duties as directed by lead technologist/supervisor
• Other duties as assigned
