Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island is seeking an MRI Technologist to join our diagnostic imaging team in Lake Success. The role performs MRI examinations, ensures patient safety, and delivers high-quality diagnostic images under radiologist supervision.

Requirements include an Associates degree or Technical Diploma in Radiology or Imaging Services, NYS Radiologic Technologist IV license and ARRT certification, and current BLS.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or Technical Diploma in Radiology or Imaging Services.
• NYS Radiologic Technologist IV License within 180 days of hire.
• Certification in ARRT (X-Ray) within 180 days of hire.
• Current BLS certification.
• Bachelor's Degree in Radiology or related field (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Performs MRI examinations according to departmental protocols and radiologist directives.
• Reviews orders and ensures exam appropriateness and patient safety during MRI.
• Prepares patients for contrast administration and manages safety precautions.
• Produces high-quality diagnostic images and transmits to PACS in proper orientation.
• Operates MRI equipment and performs routine maintenance and quality checks.
• Collaborates with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and technologists to optimize outcomes.
• Adheres to HIPAA, RIS, HIS, and regulatory standards; documents exams and scheduling.
