Job summary

Hartford HealthCare in Manchester, CT is seeking a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technologist to perform MRI exams, prepare patients, and select software parameters according to established protocols to aid diagnosis.

You will position patients, administer contrast as needed, input data into RIS and transfer images to PACS, and maintain patient safety and infection control.

This role requires ARRT or ARM RIT certification, BLS, and the ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited radiography program or ARM RIT certification.
• BLS certification required.
• Experience with MRI environment preferred.
• Strong attention to safety and infection control.

Responsibilities

• Perform MRI exams according to protocols; position patients and select parameters to aid diagnosis.
• Ensure MRI safety screening for patients, staff and equipment.
• Input data into RIS and transfer images to PACS.
• Perform venipuncture for contrast injections.
• Review orders and ensure proper patient preparation and documentation.
• Explain procedures to patients and maintain infection control.
• Maintain exam rooms and equipment; perform QA testing and support colleagues.
• Participate in department quality, safety and compliance initiatives; train/supervise students when needed.
