Job summary

Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform high-quality MRI examinations, prepare patients, operate advanced MRI equipment, and ensure safety in the magnetic environment.

You will maintain image quality, communicate with patients to reduce anxiety, and collaborate with radiologists to deliver accurate diagnostic images, while observing safety protocols and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate, upon hire.
• Registered Technologist Magnetic Resonance Imaging or Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT or ARMRIT MRI, within 9 months of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association, upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Enforce magnetic field safety for MRI patients, operator and visitors.
• Monitors the patient’s condition before and after the scan to ensure patient safety and comfort.
• Explains testing procedures to patient ensuring patient understands what the involvement of the exam.
• Positions and instructs the patient about the preparation for the MRI test
• Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy of the head, thorax and abdomen, physiology, and MRI terminology, practices and procedures
• Be familiar with specific MRI coding systems
