Job summary

Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, KS is seeking a licensed MRI Technologist to join our diagnostic imaging team. The role involves preparing patients, performing MRI exams, and ensuring quality imaging while maintaining safety and documentation. This full-time position offers relocation assistance for eligible candidates.

Ideal candidates will be registered MRI technologists with current BLS certification and a radiologic technology or MRI program background. Prior MRI experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Currently registered as a MRI Technologist.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) verification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross - Healthcare Provider CPR.

Responsibilities

• Adapts techniques to the age of population served (neonate to geriatric) while respecting cultural and spiritual needs.
• Positions and prepares patients for exams according to the procedure.
• Performs procedures and assesses patients, responding to needs as appropriate.
• Completes documentation for each study performed.
• Uses PACS and all computer systems and adheres to safety regulations and aseptic practices.
• Maintains knowledge of scanners and exam protocols to ensure high-quality procedures.
• Demonstrates knowledge of Universal protocols and applies professional judgment in procedures.
• Participates in orientation and training of new staff and students during rotations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Summary and Qualifications

• Demonstrates the ability to adapt technique/treatment to age of population served, including newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, while providing care/service with respect to cultural differences and spiritual needs
• Positions and prepares patients for exams according to the type of procedure to be performed
• Performs procedures and assesses patients throughout and responds to patient needs as appropriate
• Completes appropriate documentation for each study performed
• Performs all computer and PACS functions Observes safety regulations and aseptic practice techniques to protect patients and staff
• Demonstrates knowledge of Universal protocols
• Uses professional judgment and critical thinking when performing procedures
• Participates in orientation and training of new staff members and instructs students during their clinical rotations
• Maintains thorough knowledge of the scanners and exam protocols in order to ensure the highest quality procedures
• Performs all other duties as assigned

What qualifications you will need:

Required Registration, Licensure or Certification:

• Currently registered as a MRI Technologist
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) verification course through the American Heart Assoc. or American Red Cross - Healthcare Provider CPR

Preferred Registration, Licensure or Certification: Current registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists

Required Education or Experience: Graduate of a Radiologic Technology school or Graduate of MRI Technology program

Preferred Education or Experience: One year of experience in an MRI Imaging Department
