Job description

We Are Hiring
  • Department:MRI Magnetic Resonance Imaging
  • Schedule:Full Time Days - 36 hours per week.
    • Primarily 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM (Start times may be altered between 7 AM and 8 AM based on the need of the department)
    • On call time: One evening per week until 11:00 PM, and every fourth weekend (Friday to 11:00 PM and Saturday/Sunday between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM)
    • Holiday call time: Rotating with limited hours between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM
  • Hospital:Ascension St Francis Hospital
  • Location:Milwaukee, WI

What You Will Do

Operate a magnetic resonance scanner to obtain images used by physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of pathologies.

• Prepare and position patients and select anatomic and technical parameters accurately to produce cross-sectional images of the body.• Perform patient pre-screening, scheduling, and education related to the examination.• Enter and monitor patient data, transfer images from disk to magnetic media to produce the transparency, and develop film in an automatic processor.• Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.

What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • One or more of the following required:
    • Nuclear Medical Tech credentialed from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Must pass the Magnetic Resonance (MR) boards through American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 12 month of hire/transfer date.
    • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Magnetic Resonance Imaging credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date. General Radiography is also required in addition to Magnetic Resonance Imaging. State Radiology Technologist licensure issued by Wisconsin Radiography Examining Board required.
    • Medical Sonographer specializing in Magnetic Resonance Imaging credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Must pass the Magnetic Resonance (MR) boards through American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 12 month of hire/transfer date.

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Additional Preferences
  • Candidates with 2+ years experience preferred
