OS1 Orthopedic & Sports Injury Clinic is a walk-in orthopedic clinic focused on providing fast, expert care so patients can get better, sooner. The clinic treats individuals of all ages for sports injuries, fractures, sprains, joint pain, post-operative needs, and a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions. OS1 operates seven days a week, including evenings and weekends, and offers on-site X-ray, MRI (including open MRI), splinting, casting, PRP, and cortisone treatments. Same-day or next-day MRI appointments are a core differentiator, supported by sports medicine fellowship-trained providers. With locations in Hoover, Madison, and Trussville, AL, and Kennesaw, GA, OS1 delivers accessible orthopedic care without requiring referrals.

Role Description

This full-time, on-site MRI Technologist role is based in Birmingham, AL. The MRI Technologist will perform high-quality MRI exams according to physician orders and established protocols, ensuring accurate imaging for diagnosis and treatment planning. Responsibilities include preparing and positioning patients, explaining procedures, screening for contraindications, and monitoring patient safety and comfort throughout the scan. The technologist will operate and troubleshoot MRI equipment, optimize imaging parameters, and work closely with radiologists and orthopedic providers to support timely clinical decisions. Additional duties include maintaining accurate documentation, adhering to imaging safety and infection control standards, coordinating same-day or next-day imaging workflows, and assisting with general clinic operations as needed.

Qualifications
  • Certification and registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in MRI, or eligibility and intent to obtain ARRT (MR) certification within a defined timeframe.
  • Strong foundation in Radiologic Technology and Medical Imaging, with demonstrated ability to perform MRI procedures safely and accurately.
  • Knowledge of Radiology and Medicine as they relate to musculoskeletal and sports injury imaging, including standard imaging protocols and basic anatomy and pathology recognition.
  • Proficiency in using MRI equipment, PACS, and electronic health record systems, with attention to image quality, workflow efficiency, and data accuracy.
  • Completion of an accredited radiologic technology or MRI program; associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to support patients of all ages in a fast-paced orthopedic setting.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings and weekends, and to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary clinical team.
