Job summary

Akumin is hiring an MRI Technologist for our Largo, FL location. This full-time role focuses on patient safety and high-quality MR studies, on-site and remote as needed. You will collaborate with Radiologists and staff to ensure excellent diagnostic imaging and patient experience.

The position requires ARRT MR certification or equivalent, CPR, and the ability to work across multiple locations. A sign-on bonus is offered and a comprehensive benefits package supports work-life balance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
• ARRT (R) or ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT as allowable by contract in lieu of ARRT.
• State license, if applicable.
• CPR Certification.
• Valid state driver’s license, as applicable.
• MRI clinical experience or enrollment in MRI training.

Responsibilities

• Ensure patient safety and pre-screening for contraindications.
• Produce high quality MR images using multiple MR systems.
• Communicate effectively with radiologists, staff, and patients.
• Train/orient new technologists and assistants on site or remotely.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

We are currently hiring for aMRI Technologist at our Largo, FL facility. This will be a Full Time position.
As an MRI Technologist, you are responsible for patient safety and the performance of high-quality MR studies, on site and/ or remote. Ensures effective communication with Radiologist, team members, patients, and customers for those who work in the mobile environment. When required, trains, and orients new technologists, Patient Coordinators and/or MR Technologist Assistants.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

• Responsible for Patient Safety, including pre-screening for contra-indications, aseptic injection technique and may require remote MR Technologists Assistant oversite.
• Produces high quality diagnostic images. Operation of multiple MR systems may be required.
• Demonstrates the ability to use all channels of communications to address concerns, solve problems, and address conflict.
• Effectively communicates with customers and/or radiologists.
• Trains and orients new technologists, patient coordinators and MR Technologist Assistants, on site and/or remote.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience
• ARRT (R) or ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT as allowable by contract in lieu of ARRT.
• State license, if applicable.
• CPR Certification
• Valid state driver’s license, as applicable.
• Technologists registered in other modalities: 3 months supervised MRI clinical scanning experience OR currently enrolled for more than 6 months in an accredited MRI training program.
• MR registered technologist RT(MR) or ARMRIT: No experience required
• Ability to work at several locations.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Organizational and multi-tasking skills.
• Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.
• The COVID-19 vaccination is/may be a condition of employment.
• Local travel may be required.

Preferred:

• Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience.
• Registry in Magnetic Resonance by the ARRT.
• 1 year of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Experience.
