Job summary

St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Covington, KY, is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform MRI procedures, ensure patient safety, administer contrast, and document history and consent.

The ideal candidate has ARRT MR or ARMRIT certification, complete MR training, and strong communication. The role requires adherence to HIPAA, infection control, and accurate coding and charging; full-time, 36 hours biweekly, weekends 7A-7P.

Qualifications

• Current CPR certification.
• Graduate of an approved accredited program of Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
• Registered by ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT.
• Complete ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT (MR) within 27 months of job assignment.
• Complete MR competency checklist within first 90 days of job assignment.
• Complete ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT (MR) certification within 2 years of competency checklist completion.
• Note: State Licensure is not required for this non-radiation producing position in Kentucky/Indiana.

Responsibilities

• Perform all technical aspects of MRI procedures to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
• Ensure patient safety, administer contrast and use pressure injectors per protocol.
• Obtain consents and patient history, document reactions, maintain infection control and HIPAA compliance.
• Maintain documentation, procedure coding and charging, department cleanliness, and supplies.
• Utilize computer systems and provide exceptional patient care while meeting standards.

Education

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a MRI Tech for our Radiology dept located within the Covington hospital.
Shift/Hours: Full-Time - 36 hours/biweekly, Saturday & Sunday 7A-730P

Job Description:

Seeking a detail-oriented and patient-focused MRI Technologist responsible for performing all technical aspects of MRI procedures to produce high-quality diagnostic images for radiologist interpretation. This role ensures the safety of patients, visitors, and staff throughout all examinations, administers contrast and utilizes pressure injectors in accordance with established protocols, obtains and documents required consents and patient history, including any previous contrast reactions, and maintains compliance with infection control, HIPAA, and all applicable safety regulations. The MRI Technologist is responsible for accurate documentation, procedure coding and charging, maintaining department cleanliness and supplies, utilizing required computer systems, and providing exceptional patient care while demonstrating the clinical knowledge and technical skills necessary to meet organizational, state, federal, and accreditation standards. Additional duties may be assigned as needed to support departmental operations.

Education, Credentials, Licenses:

Education and National Credentials:

• Current CPR certification
• Graduate of an approved accredited program of Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
• Registered by the ARRT (MR) or the American Registry of MRI Technologists (ARMRIT)

OR

• Complete ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT (MR) within 27 months of job assignment.
  • Complete MR competency checklist within first 90 days of job assignment.
  • Complete ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT (MR) certification within 2 years of competency checklist completion.

• NOTE: State Licensure is NOT required by the state of Kentucky or Indiana because this job is a non-radiation producing position.

Specialized Knowledge:

• Effective communication skills
• Proven competency to inject intravenous contrast agents.
• Advanced knowledge of cross section anatomy.

Kind and Length of Experience:

• Adequate clinical experience from an approved program.
