Job summary

We are seeking an MRI Technologist in Colorado to operate a 3T Skyra MRI system, interact with patients, and deliver high-quality diagnostic images. The role includes protocol adherence, QC, and documentation while traveling between Broomfield and Boulder offices.

Requirements include ARRT MR, current CPR, and a minimum of 1 year MRI experience; cross-training in CT is available. Onsite, full-time, 10:30–7pm schedule.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited Radiology program required; ARRT MR registration.
  • Minimum 1 year MRI experience; cross-training in CT.
  • Current CPR certification for Health Care Providers.
  • Knowledge of MRI/CT principles, standards, and equipment.
  • Ability to position patients and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Perform MRI procedures at a tech level in accordance with protocols.
  • Maintain proper quality control procedures.
  • Know regulatory requirements relating to MRI exams and equipment.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and staff.
  • Maintain inventory and a safe work area.
  • Document work processes as required.
  • Work as a team member within imaging and other departments.
  • Attend required meetings and committees as requested.
  • Travel between Broomfield and Boulder offices.

Job Overview

As an MRI Technologist, you play a crucial role in patient care by producing high‑quality diagnostic images through the operation of an MRI scanner. This position involves direct patient interaction, including conducting interviews, explaining the scanning process, and accurately positioning patients on the exam table. By capturing detailed 3‑dimensional images, you provide essential support to doctors in diagnosing and treating patients. Reports to: MRI/CT Manager

Schedule/Type: Full‑Time, Onsite M‑F, 10:30‑7pm

Wage: $36‑$55.00 per hour, commensurate with experience

Primary Job Responsibilities
  1. Perform MRI procedures at a tech level in accordance with protocols
  2. Maintain proper quality control procedures
  3. Must have knowledge of regulatory requirements relating to MRI exams and equipment
  4. Establish and maintain effective working relationship with patients, medical staff and the public
  5. Knowledge of concepts, standards, procedures and equipment
  6. Maintain a safe and appropriate work area. Maintain inventory of supplies.
  7. Adhere to employer work practices as described in TDC Occupational Exposure Plan
  8. Knowledge of basic patient care and activities that may be necessary during exam
  9. Attend required meetings and participate in committees as requested
  10. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  11. Work as a team member within the imaging department and all other departments
  12. Document work processes as required
  13. Perform other duties as assigned

Travel between the Broomfield and Boulder Office will be required

Education

High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited Radiology program required; current registration with the American Registry of Radiology Technologists (AART)(R)(MR)

Experience

Minimum one (1) year experience in MRI preferred, and will cross train the right candidate in CT.

Other Requirements

Current CPR certification for Health Care Providers

Performance Requirements

Knowledge:

  1. Knowledge and understanding of clinical magnetic resonance imaging and CT principles, procedures, techniques, and equipment.
  2. Knowledge of specifications, standards, and tolerances for the operation of MRI and CT equipment and facility

Skills:

  1. Skill in examining and re‑engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures
  2. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills including the ability to manage interactions with difficult people.

Abilities:

  1. Ability to properly position patients to provide quality imaging.
  2. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  3. Ability to operate high field clinical magnetic resonance imaging and CT scanner.
  4. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, management and peers
  5. Ability to foster a cooperative work environment
Equipment Operated

Standard medical exam/office equipment including computerized health information management system for medical records. 3T Skyra MRI equipment.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The position walks, sits, stands, bends, lifts and moves continually during working hours. The position is subject to lifting objects weighing over 50 pounds, pushing wheel chairs, and transporting and supporting patients. The employee must be constantly alert for patient safety.
