Job summary

IHA is seeking an MRI Technologist for the Trinity Health Livingston Hospital in Michigan. This part-time role (28 hours/week) covers evening shifts, with every 3rd weekend availability. You will review orders, prepare patients, position for MRI, and adjust protocols to optimize diagnostic imaging.

Required are an accredited MRI program, advanced MRI certification or registry eligibility, and current BLS. One year MRI experience is preferred; venipuncture and an understanding of cross-sectional

• Must be proficient in venipuncture.
• Must know methods to set up and operate MRI equipment.

Responsibilities

• Review the Physician Order and reason for exam.
• Prepare the patient, position appropriately, and perform MRI imaging of patients.
• Adjust scanning protocols as needed based on anatomy/physiology presented.
• Work with MRI leadership and Radiologist to produce diagnostic images per protocols.
• Administer contrast media as required by protocols.
• Assist with MRI-guided invasive procedures as needed.
• Perform technical procedures with independent judgment and minimal supervision.

Position Purpose

The MRI Technologist is responsible for reviewing the Physician Order and reason for exam, preparing the patient, positioning, and performing MRI imaging of patients.

Shifts Available:

Part Time, 28 hours per week

Shift Available:

Evenings, every 3rd weekend

Required Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited MRI Technologist program
• Advanced certification in MRI by ARRT or ARMRIT; OR MRI Registry-eligible with certification within one year of hire
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• One year MRI experience preferred
• Must have good working knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy
• Must be proficient in venipuncture
• Must know methods to set up and operate MRI equipment

What The MRI Technologist Will Do

• Review the Physician Order and reason for exam.
• Prepare the patient, position appropriately, and perform MRI imaging of patients.
• Adjust scanning protocols as needed based on the anatomy/physiology presented during the scan.
• Work closely with MRI leadership and the Radiologist to produce the most diagnostic images possible in accordance with the department protocols.
• Administer contrast media required per specific diagnostic protocols.
• Assist the physician/APP with the performance of MRI-guided invasive procedures as needed.
• Perform a variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgment, with integrity and initiative and be able to work with minimum supervision.
