Job summary

The Advanced Imaging Center at Sentara Greenbrier HealthPlex in Chesapeake, VA seeks an MRI technologist to deliver high-quality MRI imaging under physician supervision. You will administer contrast, verify safety screenings, review patient records for accuracy, and communicate procedures clearly to patients.

Required ARRT MR certification with at least 1 year x-ray experience; cross-training in MRI applications is beneficial.

Qualifications

• ARRT MR certification required.
• 1 year x-ray experience with cross-training preferred.
• Education in radiologic sciences or equivalent certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality MRI imaging under physician supervision per protocol.
• Administer MRI contrast as required and ensure patient safety screening.
• Review patient records for accuracy and assess implants/devices via vendor resources.
• Maintain patient records and department documentation; explain procedures to patients.

Job Description

Provide quality MRI Imaging to patients under the direction of a supervising physician with adherence to the required protocol standards.Duties may include but are not limited to: Administration of MRI contrast per protocol, Evaluates and approves patient MRI safety screening form prior to patient entering scanner, Knowledge of MRI safety zones and other safety regulations. Reviewing patient records for accuracy and evaluating all implants and devices through vendor resources.Acting as a liaison with physician and supportive care personnel. Maintainingpatientsrecords, reports, and files. performs patient MRI exams per protocol, reviews imaging for accuracy and quality prior to sending for interpretation. examination and procedure to patient andcompletesdepartmental documentation. Explains examination andproceduresto patients and completes departmental documentation.
