Job summary

Sentara Albemarle Medical Center in Elizabeth City, NC seeks an MRI technologist to provide high-quality imaging under physician supervision. The role includes administering MRI contrast, safety screening, and reviewing implants using vendor resources.

You will liaise with physicians and care staff, maintain patient records, and ensure accurate, ready-for-interpretation imaging. Requires ARRT MR, ALD Radiologic Sciences or trade school certification, and a minimum of 1 year x-ray experience.

Qualifications

• Certification in Radiologic Technology (ALD Radiologic Sciences or trade school).
• ARRT MR licensure required.
• Minimum 1 year x-ray experience to cross-train.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality MRI imaging to patients under physician supervision.
• Administer MRI contrast per protocol and ensure safety screening is complete.
• Review patient records and implants/devices through vendor resources.
• Explain procedures to patients and obtain informed consent when needed.
• Maintain patient records, reports and departmental documentation.
• Review imaging for accuracy and quality before interpretation.

Overview

Provide quality MRI Imaging to patients under the direction of a supervising physician with adherence to the required protocol standards. Duties may include but are not limited to: Administration of MRI contrast per protocol, Evaluates and approves patient MRI safety screening form prior to patient entering scanner, Knowledge of MRI safety zones and other safety regulations. Reviewing patient records for accuracy and evaluating all implants and devices through vendor resources. Acting as a liaison with physician and supportive care personnel. Maintaining patients records, reports, and files. performs patient MRI exams per protocol, reviews imaging for accuracy and quality prior to sending for interpretation. examination and procedure to patient and completes departmental documentation. Sentara Albemarle Medical Center, located in Elizabeth City, NC, serves northeastern North Carolina with a caring team of approximately 650 employees and 150 medical providers.
