Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform diagnostic MRI examinations and provide patient care across neonatal to geriatric ages. You will position patients, select protocols, and operate imaging equipment under radiologist guidance.

Responsibilities include adhering to imaging protocols, conducting quality control per ACR, and delivering age-appropriate patient education. A collaborative radiology team environment supports your ongoing growth and development.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or JRCERT accredited hospital-based training program.
• No experience required; 6 months MRI experience preferred.
• ARDMS or ARRT Radiographer Registered; BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates competence in performing MRI procedures on patients of all ages and positions patient according to protocols.
• Follows established imaging protocols and performs quality control per ACR guidelines.
• Provides patient education and clear communications.
• Maintains competency in non-scanner related components and supports radiology team.

Responsibilities

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technologists utilize the resonant frequency properties of atoms within a magnetic field to image anatomic and/or physiologic conditions of the body to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disease. MR technologists perform diagnostic magnetic resonance examinations in accordance with all prescribed standards under the direct guidance of the supervising Radiologist. MR Technologists provide patient care to all age groups to include neonatal, pediatrics, adult, and geriatrics.

• Demonstrates competence and proficiency in performing all MRI procedures on patients of all age groups. Positions patient, selects the correct protocol, and utilizes all required equipment.
• Maintains competencies in all non-scanner related components.
• Accurately follows all established imaging protocols for exam being performed.
• Performs quality control procedures in accordance with the ACR guidelines.
• Provides quality age specific care in accordance with prescribed standards and practices.
• Provides patient education and communications in accordance with prescribed standards.
• Must be competent and proficient to position, select correct protocol and utilize imaging equipment on patients of all age groups for radiological exams, when requested.

• 6 months as an MRI Technologist Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• (R) ARDMS or ARRT - Radiographer Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology in Radiography (R) Required
• BLS - Basic Life Support Required
