Job summary

HTU is seeking an MRI Technologist to independently operate MRI equipment, ensuring high-quality imaging and patient care for all ages. You will screen for magnet safety, position patients, select coils, and follow scanning protocols to deliver timely images to radiologists.

The role requires ARRT (Radiology & MRI) or ARMRIT, plus BLS, strong computer skills, and mathematical ability. On-site position with standard day shift and bonus eligibility may apply.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• ARRT or ARMRIT certifications with MRI focus.
• BLS certification.
• Proficient computer skills including database use and data entry.
• Mathematical skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate MRI equipment independently to achieve high-quality images while maintaining optimal patient care for all ages.
• Screen all patients and staff entering zones 3 and 4 to ensure magnet safety.
• Perform all MRI procedures proficiently, including proper positioning, coil selection, and knowledge of scanning protocols.
• Complete imaging studies timely, charge appropriately, and deliver images promptly to radiologists for interpretation.
• Identify patients using two identifiers and communicate MR safety questionnaires and clinical history with patients and medical staff.
• Obtain completed safety questionnaires and ensure magnet safety for patients entering the department.
• Communicate sedation needs to appropriate medical staff and inform patients and families of delays.
• Prepare scan rooms using approved cleaning protocols and maintain supplies and linen.
• Prepare and administer contrast materials within scope of practice as prescribed or per approved protocols.
• Implement emergency procedures as needed.
• Perform department and hospital computer functions accurately and promptly.
• Perform quality control tasks on equipment and procedures to meet standards.
• Stay updated on organizational and departmental changes by checking email each shift.
• Provide clinical instruction to staff technologists and students; prepare staff schedules and coordinate daily workflow as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

About You

The company is looking for candidates with:

• Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• No prior experience required.
• ARRT registration in Radiology & MRI, or ARRT registration in MRI, or ARMRIT certification.
• BLS certification.
• Knowledge of office equipment such as fax and copier.
• Proficient computer skills including database use and data entry.
• Mathematical skills.
