Job summary

HonorHealth Osborn Medical Center in Scottsdale, AZ seeks an experienced MRI Technologist to support the RAD MRI team for evening shifts. The role conducts MRI exams, ensures patient safety and comfort, and collaborates with radiologists to deliver high-quality imaging.

The incumbent will cover network locations as needed, administer contrast when required, and use RIS/PACS for image management. A high school diploma and MR experience are required; ARRT MR/ARMRIT certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• MR imaging experience required; other radiology experience acceptable.
• ARRT MR certification or ARMRIT certification or military training required before start date.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform MRI procedures and monitor patient safety and comfort.
• Transport patients and position them for exams.
• Maintain image quality and perform quality control tests.
• Operate RIS, PACS and other image management systems.
• Rotate through department based on staffing and volume.
• Participate in orientation and training of staff.

Responsibilities

• Assumes responsibility for tasks or procedures as assigned.
• Performs data entry operations using appropriate hospital software package.
• Staff member may be required to provide coverage at various locations in the network.

Essential Functions

• Reviews patient identification, orders, and history to ensure correct patient, procedure, imaging site, and MRI eligibility.
• Protocols procedure with radiologist as needed.
• Transports patients to and from the exam room and assists them into position using safe patient handling techniques and equipment.
• Performs MRI procedures and observes patient during procedure to ensure patient's safety and comfort.
• Administers contrast materials as required.
• Able to initiate emergency response to contrast reaction as needed.
• Obtains and evaluates images for technical quality assurance factors including image laterality marking and annotation as required by MRI procedure protocols.
• Utilizes RIS, PACS and other, ancillary image management systems as needed.
• Assists in coordination of daily workflow for the department’s activities.
• Maintains equipment in efficient operating order.
• Performs and documents all required quality control testing.
• Contacts service for repair and maintenance as directed.
• Rotates throughout the department as staffing and volume dictates.
• Participates in orientation, training, and in-servicing of staff, as needed.
• Maintains an orderly, clean and safe environment of patients and staff in assigned area.
• Maintains stock and inventory as assigned.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Other General radiology experience or MR experience Required

License and Certifications
