Job summary

Trinity Employment Specialists is seeking an MRI Technologist Lead/Coordinator in Newton, KS. The role partners with the Imaging Director to support daily operations, training, and compliance while coordinating with AMR for research activities and regulatory adherence.

Under Medical Director supervision, you will promote high-quality patient-centered care focused on safety, comfort, and imaging excellence, with hands-on patient care and backup support for complex exams.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional healthcare education preferred.
  • Graduation from an approved School of Radiologic Technology or equivalent.
  • Registered by ARRT in Radiologic Technology.
  • Minimum 5 years’ MRI experience with at least 1 year in a lead or supervisory MRI technologist role.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate MRI team activities.
  • Serve as point person for MRI operations.
  • Partner with Imaging Director on staffing, scheduling, competency assessments, and performance initiatives.
  • Facilitate staff meetings, education/training, and onboarding for MRI personnel.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives to optimize workflow, quality, and patient safety.
  • Collaborate with AMR and other research partners to support protocol implementation, subject screening, scheduling, data collection, and regulatory compliance.
  • Act as resource for MRI policies, procedures, and safety practices; promote MR safety culture.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and charting per department standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide direct patient care for MRI procedures, ensuring comfort and high quality imaging.
  • Serve as backup for complex exams and troubleshooting MRI equipment/protocol issues as needed.

MRI Technologist Newton, KS $68K - $95K Annually Sign-on Bonus Retention Bonus

Position Summary

The MRI Lead/Coordinator partners with the Director of Imaging to support daily departmental operations, staff meetings, training, process improvement, MRI event coordination, and compliance. This role collaborates with contracted research organization (AMR) to support research activities and ensure regulatory and protocol adherence. Working under the Medical Director’s supervision, the MRI Lead promotes high-quality, patient-centered care prioritizing safety, comfort, and the patient experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate MRI team activities;

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of medical procedures and terminology.

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional healthcare education preferred.
  • Graduation from an approved School of Radiologic Technology or equivalent.
  • Registered by ARRT in Radiologic Technology.
  • Minimum 5 years’ MRI experience with at least 1 year in a lead or supervisory MRI technologist role.

Licensure / Certifications

  • Current ARRT registration — Radiography.
  • Current Radiologic Technologist licensure from the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts.
  • CPR / Basic Life Support certification.
  • Additional registries may be required depending on assigned modalities.
  • MRI Safety Officer certification preferred.
