Job summary

The University of Minnesota's Masonic Institute for the Developing Brain (MIDB) seeks an Undergraduate Research Assistant to support MRI team activities. This on-campus position involves preparing scanning spaces, greeting families, and assisting with infant scans in a university lab setting.

Hours are 30% time, with evening and weekend availability. Applicants must be undergraduate students in psychology, neuroscience, or related fields, with strong communication and MR safety awareness;

Qualifications

• Must be an enrolled undergraduate student at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities in psychology, neuroscience, or a health-related field.
• Maintain the minimum required number of semester credits for student employment eligibility.
• At least 18 years of age.
• CPR or Basic Life Support certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up the scanning area and family waiting room prior to scans.
• Greeting families at the MIDB or CMRR.
• Conduct MR safety screening of family members.
• Help infants and toddlers fall asleep for their scan.
• Remain in the scanning room with the infant/toddler during the scan.
• Administer simple tests or surveys to parents.
• Clean up the area after scans.
• Record keeping and training completion.
