Job summary

AdventHealth in Shawnee Mission, Kansas is seeking an MRI Radiology Assistant to support diagnostic imaging operations in the evenings. You will assist technologists and radiologists, prepare patients, position them, and help maintain a clean, organized imaging suite.

This full-time, evening-shift role requires excellent communication, multi-tasking, and a patient-centered approach. BLS certification preferred; High School grad is required, with at least one year hospital radiology experience.

Qualifications

Must have 1+ year hospital radiology experience (preferred).
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
Knowledge of healthcare concepts and procedures in radiology.
Ability to multitask and communicate effectively with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

Assist patients with preparation for imaging exams and verify identification.
Position patients and assist technologists during imaging procedures.
Clean and restock imaging rooms between patients and ensure infection control.
Maintain inventory of linens, supplies and equipment; notify staff when items are low.
Answer phones, relay messages, and support inter-department communication.

Job Description:

MRI Radiology Assistant, Full-Time Evenings

Responsible for supporting diagnostic imaging operations by assisting technologists and radiologists in the preparation and care of patients undergoing imaging procedures. This role plays a vital part in ensuring efficient workflow, maintaining patient safety and comfort, and supporting high-quality imaging services in a fast-paced clinical environment.

MRI Monday through Friday 3:30 PM to midnight

Assists patients with preparation for imaging exams, including changing into appropriate attire and verifying identification under supervision.
Supports technologists during procedures by positioning patients, moving equipment, or preparing exam rooms as directed.
Cleans and restocks imaging rooms between patients, ensuring cleanliness, infection control compliance, and readiness for next exam.
Maintains adequate inventory of linens, supplies, and equipment, alerting appropriate staff when items are low.
Answers phones, relays messages, and assists with communication between technologists, nursing, and other departments to support efficient workflow.
Greets, escorts, and transports patients to and from imaging areas, ensuring safety, comfort, and timely movement throughout the department.
Other duties as assigned.
