Job summary

Boone Hospital Center provides MRI and CT imaging in an acute care setting for adult and pediatric patients. The role requires credentialing in MRI or CT and readiness to train in additional modalities, with patient care and safety as priorities.

Qualifications

• Degree: Associate degree in Radiography.
• Experience: 0-2 years.
• Licenses & Certifications: R.T.(R) certification by the ARRT.
• MR and CT certifications by the ARRT; one advanced credential must be obtained within 1 year; second within 2 years.
• BLS required within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Performs imaging examinations in MRI and CT.
• May be trained to perform QC or invasive procedures, such as needle biopsies.
• May be trained in additional modalities, such as X-ray and Dexa.
• Explains procedures to patients and provides pre- and post- procedure patient care.
• Maintains patient safety and accurate records in PACS and EMR.
• Adheres to ALARA guidelines and radiation safety practices.

Job Summary

Responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures in MRI and CT in an acute care setting to adult and/or pediatric patients for the purpose of diagnosis and/or treatment of anatomic and physiologic disorders.

Sign-On Bonus Eligible $10,000 Every other weekend in CT; 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Every other weekend in MRI; 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday and Friday; 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Weekend Option Available with Premium Pay Eligibility 7-Person Weekend Call Rotation and 1 Holiday per Year Overnight Call 1-2 days per Week in MRI Benefits start first day of employment! Must be credentialed in MRI or CT. Will train for other modality.

Job Responsibilities

• Performs imaging examinations in MRI and CT;
• May also be trained to perform QC or invasive procedures, such as needle biopsies.
• May also be trained in additional modalities, such as X-ray and Dexa.
• Explains procedures to patients and maintains a safe and comfortable environment; Provides necessary pre- and post- procedure patient care.
• Completes review of patients’ chart to verify exam orders and validate reason for exam.
• Interview patients regarding personal history, implanted devices, contrast allergies, etc.
• Practices proper patient positioning and scanning protocols to achieve diagnostic quality imaging.
• Adjust, maintain, and operate imaging equipment by following applicable protocol parameters to acquire high-quality, diagnostic images.
• Administer contrast under radiologists’ supervision, when applicable.
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions and ensure safety throughout the procedure.
• Implement radiation protection techniques to minimize exposure to patients and staff, by adhering to ALARA guidelines.
• Implement Magnetic Resonance Safety policies and procedures set by the organization.
• Maintain accurate records within clinical documentation support systems; Manages imaging data in PACS and documents procedures in EMR.
• Follows best practice safety guidelines as established by ACR and other regulatory bodies.
• Work closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals.
• Provides clinical instructions and evaluations for students.
• Performs Other Responsibilities as Assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Degree: Associate degree in Radiography
• Experience: 0-2 years
• Supervisor Experience: None required
• Licenses & Certifications: R.T.(R) certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Magnetic Resonance (MR) and Computerized Tomography (CT) certifications by the ARRT; One advanced credential must be obtained within 1 year of being hired into the position; The second credential must be obtained within 2 years.
• BLS required within 30 days of employment.
