Job summary

Belcan is seeking a Material Review Board Engineer in Charleston, SC for a full-time direct position. The role reviews fuselage, nacelle, and pylon discrepancies to determine acceptability or repairability.

Responsibilities include training and mentoring engineers and facilitating MRB certification. Requires a bachelor's degree, 2+ years of experience, and up to 50% travel.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
  • 2+ years of engineering experience required.
  • Understanding of structural load paths and failure modes.
  • Static and fatigue analysis experience.
  • Legal authorization to work in the US.
  • Travel up to 50%+; familiarity with composite repair preferred.
  • Knowledge of aircraft structures analysis and materials.

  • Liaison with other teams and OEM customers.
  • Maintain strong communication with internal project teams and customers.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to less experienced staff.
  • Help solve problems affecting cost, schedule, and performance.

Job description

A Material Review Board Engineer job with Belcan Engineering Group is currently available in Charleston, SC. This job is a full-time direct position. To be considered for this role, you will need bachelor's degree in engineering. In this job your primary responsibility will be reviewing fuselage, nacelle, and pylon discrepancies and determining acceptability and/or repairability. You will be expected to train and mentor other engineers and facilitate timely MRB certification for yourself and others on the team.

Bonuses up to $40,000 may be considered for qualified candidates
Job Duties:
  • Formulate, analyze, substantiate, and document dispositions for production non-conformances within the boundaries of Federal Aviation Regulations and OEM delegated requirements
  • Liaison with other teams as required and interact with OEM customers
  • Maintain strong communication with internal project team and customer
  • Provides functional guidance to less experienced staff and act in a technical leadership capacity
  • Helps solve problems that would affect cost, schedule, and performance
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Aeronautical, Astronautical, Chemical, Material or Aerospace Engineering
  • 2 or more years of experience performing engineering tasks
  • Understanding of structural load paths and failure modes
  • Static and fatigue analysis experience
  • Legal authorization to work in the US required
  • Familiarity with composite repair and rework methodologies preferred
  • Travel Required up to 50% +
  • Understanding of aircraft structures analysis, manufacturing processes, and materials
Preferred:
  • Previously held MRB Delegated Authority from an Aerospace Company
  • Specific experience with Boeing Airframes
  • Interpersonal skills and willingness to work in a team environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Mentoring experience
  • 5 or more years' experience substantiating Material Review Board discrepancies to substantiate nonconforming conditions
Compensation:

We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary rate of $110,000 to $180,000, and up to $40k in bonuses can be earned! Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
