Airbus US Manufacturing Facility is looking for a MRB Engineer II A220 to join our A220 Engineering Department based in Mobile, AL.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for creation, approval, authorization and release of technical solutions including justification reports for repairs/reworks and troubleshooting instructions, and the identification, explanation, resolution and documentation of anomalies delivered with the aircraft to the design office and authorities (EASA, FAA, TC).
  • Involved in all aircraft systems and structure (metallic/composite).
  • Analyzes all reported malfunctions of aircraft systems/structures and launches troubleshooting activities.
  • Represents all design offices, subcontractors and risk‑sharing partners.
  • Acts as interface between the design organization and the manufacturing organization.
  • Creates, checks, approves and releases covering technical design solutions.
  • Supports the FAL US from delivery of aircraft sections through flight line activities and up to ferry flight, including presentations to the customer.
  • Responsible for the creation, validation, approval and monitoring of corrective actions such as new modifications, drawing updates, design query notes and improvements to avoid recurrent issues.
  • Responsible for creating temporary aircraft definitions (special instructions) in line with airworthiness requirements.
  • Uses manuals such as the Aircraft Wiring List, Aircraft Maintenance Manual and Illustrated Parts Catalog for research and verification.
  • Evaluates non‑conformities written by production/quality departments or Flight Test Engineers.
  • Performs MRB audits and manages onsite service, cost center, flight clearance prerequisites, employee training, process improvements, and other tasks based on individual skills and experience.
  • Obtains delegation from the Design Office to perform engineering activities under MRB.
  • Executes intermediate to complex engineering assignments across several engineering fields.
  • Conducts research to investigate, reevaluate and apply results to solve practical problems.
  • Identifies and reports defects and deficiencies in others’ work, prepares progress reports, recommends changes in plans and specifications, develops innovative engineering techniques, generates documentation for approval, and reviews documents prepared by others for final approval.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience or demonstrated knowledge and competency for the role.
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification preferred.
  • 10% domestic and international travel required.
  • Knowledge and skill in implementing and using indication, alert, and recording systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of engine, fuel, pneumatic, APU, hydraulic, cabin systems, and advanced metallic/composite aerospace structures.
  • Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge of configuration management rules.
  • Proven problem‑solving success.
  • Self‑motivation and self‑direction.
  • Willingness to work across traditional boundaries.
  • Catia experience preferred.
  • Ability to plan activities on short and mid‑term basis.
  • Will support the evening shift (1 pm‑9:30 pm) and schedule may change.
