Job summary

RAYUS Radiology in Portland, ME is seeking a Technologists Assistant to support the technologists, keep the imaging area organized, and help keep patient schedules on time. This role contributes to smooth operations and timely patient care.

You will assist in room setup, patient prep, and coordinating between patients and staff. The position requires at least a high school diploma or equivalent and enrollment in a Radiologic Technologist program; candidate must be at least 16 years old.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age.
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Currently enrolled in Radiologic Technologist program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitors schedules for all modalities, arthrograms, and image scans, adjusting as necessary.
• Greets and escorts patients to changing room; briefly explains procedure.
• Prepares patient jackets and compiles films by date and number.
• Assists technologists in room setup between patients; manages coils and sheets.
• Prepares the next patient for scanning to optimize scheduling.
• Restores and networks all previous exams for next day's patients.
• Stocks and cleans work and control areas and MRI rooms.
• Keeps imaging areas stocked and organized in a neat manner.
• Cleans and stocks patient prep room and restroom.
• Stocks linen and empties laundry at night.
• Organizes supply closet and radiologist reading area.
• Coordinates with technologists, Medical Records, and Front Office for additional duties.
• Projects, tasks, etc. as assigned.

RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Technologists Assistant to join our team. We are challenging the status quo by shining light on radiology and making it a critical first step in diagnosis and proper treatment. Come join us and shine brighter together! As a Technologists Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting/supporting the Technologists in a variety of ways (based on need), allowing the Technologists patient schedules to remain on time. This role is also responsible for ensuring that the scanning area runs smoothly, is maintained and kept organized.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

(70%) Technologist Assistance

1. Monitors schedules for all modalities, arthrograms, and image scans, adjusting as necessary and keeping technologists informed of changes.
2. Greets and escorts patients to changing room; briefly explains procedure
3. Prepares patient jackets and compiles films putting them together in appropriate jacket according to date and number
4. Assists technologists in room set up between patients, including putting proper coil on table, putting previous coil away and changing table sheet
5. Prepares the next patient for scanning before the current patient completes their procedure to optimize scheduling.
6. Restores and networks all previous exams for next day's returning patients

(20%) Cleaning & Organization

1. Stocks and cleans work and control areas and MRI room(s)
2. Ensures that all patient imaging areas are stocked and organized in a neat and tidy manner
3. Cleans and stocks patient prep room and patient restroom
4. Stocks linen and empties laundry at the end of the night
5. Organizes and cleans supply closet and computer rooms
6. Organizes radiologist reading area after radiologist has left for the day
7. Checks with technologists of all modalities, Medical Records and/or Front Office team members to assist with any additional duties as needed

Required:

1. Must be 16 years of age

1. High School diploma, or equivalent
2. Currently enrolled in a Radiologic Technologist program
