Job summary

GE HealthCare in the United States seeks a Magnetic Resonance Research Scientist to advance MR hardware and software. You will work on 1.5T-7.0T platforms within an interdisciplinary team, developing novel MR techniques for clinical and preclinical use.

You will prototype systems, validate image quality, publish findings, and collaborate with academia and industry. A PhD with MR expertise and programming skills is required; U.S. work authorization and onsite work in Niskayuna, NY are needed.

Qualifications

  • PhD required with at least 3 years of research experience.
  • Strong MR imaging physics fundamentals and sub-systems knowledge.
  • Proficiency in C, Python, or simulation tools.

Responsibilities

  • Apply MR physics, math, engineering to prototype novel MR systems and applications.
  • Develop applications leveraging MRI sub-systems with enhanced imaging capabilities.
  • Deploy investigational MR applications for tests in clinical and preclinical settings.
  • Assess how hardware performance impacts image quality and safety.
  • Create MR solutions for MR-guided therapy and interventional uses.
  • Foster external collaborations via publications, grants and tech development.
  • Collaborate with clinicians to translate technologies into clinical use.
  • File invention disclosures and patents; contribute to IP portfolio.
  • Present work at conferences and in peer-reviewed journals.
