Job summary

Comic Book Resources (CBR) is seeking a paid freelance entertainment writer for a fully remote position. You will craft timely movie features and listicles, following CBR’s house style and editorial guidelines, with fact-checking and light editing. Pitch topics, contribute consistently, and stay current on movienews to engage readers.

You will work under tight deadlines, collaborate with the Editorial team, and have opportunities to contribute original ideas from anywhere in the world.

Qualifications

• Educational background in journalism or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience writing entertainment content for a digital publication.
• Up-to-date on movienews and pop culture.
• Strong teamwork and motivation.
• Experience with SEO practices and a CMS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Write timely movie feature/list articles in house style, including fact-checking and basic editing.

This is a paid freelance, remote position.

CBR is the #1 entertainment website and publishes up-to-the-minute news on blockbuster movies, TV shows, video games, comic books, music and other forms of entertainment.

Your Responsibilities

• Write timely movie feature/listarticlesin Screen Rant’s house style (following the requisite training and peer mentorship period). This will include fact-checking, formatting, linking, and image sourcing/very basic editing (sizing, brightness, etc.)
• Pitch article topics to our Editorial team.
• Be a dedicated and consistent contributor to the site.
• Follow CBR’s general Editorial Guidelines while producing unique and high-quality content.
• Produce articles in a timely manner to ensure that the latest industry news and most interesting content are always available to CBR’s loyal readers.
• Work under tight deadlines and submit tasks on time.
