Job summary

The Arc Ontario in Canandaigua, NY seeks a Movement Specialist to lead movement and dance sessions, develop individualized plans, and partner with clinical and creative teams to weave movement goals into each person’s plan.

Requirements include a BA/BS in Movement/Dance and at least a few months of experience with people with disabilities. Full-time, Mon-Fri 8:00am-2:00pm, on-site role.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Movement/Dance and over 3 months of experience with people with disabilities, or an equivalent amount of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate movement programs for day habilitation participants and other waiver supports; use movement to build skills and maintain curriculum.
• Serve as resource for staff; provide training in movement as a teaching tool in groups or sessions.
• Collaborate with therapy, nursing, social work and Creative Expressions team to align movement with services.
