Job summary

Vail Resorts in Alaska is seeking a Ski Patrol member for the 2026/2027 winter season. You will be responsible for guest safety on varied terrain, with the ability to stay calm during crises and incidents on the mountain.

Starting wage ranges from $22.00/hr to $27.70/hr, with full-time seasonal hours. Must pass an expert level ski test and be able to work in all weather conditions. Housing is not provided.

Qualifications

• Previous patrol experience required.
• Must pass resort Ski Patrol sponsored ski test, capable of skiing all terrain.
• Must be able to communicate fluently in English.
• Must have excellent guest service skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and promote guest safety on varied terrain with winter conditions.
• Assist injured/ill guests and administer first aid.
• Transport injured guests off mountain using toboggan or assist with air lift operations.
• Maintain trails, identify hazards, and set up closures and safety materials.
• Transport supplies and equipment to areas of need on skis or snowboard.
• Perform closing procedures to ensure guests are off mountain safely.
• Enforce Skier Responsibility Code and Resort Policies.
• Operate chairlift and assist guest evacuation.
• Operate snowmobiles to various areas as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
