Job summary

Pratt Miller is seeking an experienced Data and Electronics Engineer to join its Competition Engineering Group. This role supports the Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller team with shop and trackside duties.

The candidate will design and integrate vehicle electronics, develop harnesses and instrumentation, and manage data systems during race events, with a strong emphasis on data review and problem solving.

Qualifications

• BS in engineering or other advanced technical background.
• 2+ years in Motorsports with focus on vehicle electronics and controls.
• Experience with direct track and test support.
• Advanced CAN-based system programming knowledge.
• Experience with Motorsport data acquisition systems and tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and integrate vehicle electronics and control systems for race cars.
• Develop harnesses, instrumentation, and electronics requirements.
• Support data system installation, programming, and calibration trackside.
• Review data, troubleshoot issues, and assist with setup/teardown of equipment.
• Maintain documentation, SOPs, and keep systems updated.
• Collaborate with suppliers, teammates, and customers during events.

This role would support the Corvette Racing By Pratt Miller’s in-house race team. This position would have both shop based and trackside support responsibilities.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Vehicle Electronic SystemsDesign and integration of vehicle electronics and control systems:Develop and specify harness, instrumentation, and electronic component requirements for system designResponsible for device programing and setupDevelop and maintain system communication protocols and documentationManage supplier technical interactionsDevelop and manage test requirements and planning when applicableManaging necessary reporting and documentationDevelopment of operation SOPsMaintenance of the vehicles systems not limited to:Develop and maintain the operating configurations for the various systemsManage associated documentation and distribution of updatesInspecting, installing, calibrating, and modifying vehicle electrical harnesses and instrumentationVerifying system operationsManaging inventory and location of systems across the programsTracking of maintenance and component servicing and life cyclesTrackside / Support ExecutionRace and Test Event supportRace and test event support is required.Support and testing duties could include but not limited to:Installation of data systemOperation and programming of data systemsVerification, maintenance and replacement of instrumentation and electronics equipmentData downloading and distributionTelemetry monitoringParticipating in troubleshooting and issue resolutionData review related to vehicle system and instrumentation operationAssisting in setup and teardown of equipmentOther various activities suited to skill setReporting and documentationSpecific program support can include any of the above-mentioned duties but can expand beyond this scopeTeam Member InteractionsThis role will interface heavily with our primary supplier and customer base.
