Job summary

Granite Construction Incorporated is seeking an experienced grader operator to level subgrades and prepare sites for road construction. You will operate a motor grader, align with reference stakes, and switch attachments as needed, while adhering to safety standards.

Preferred candidates have GPS familiarity, prior grading experience, and ability to read plans and specifications. Physical stamina and the ability to work in dusty environments are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• Certification as required by job.
• Relevant training or experience in grading.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Operate motor grader safely and efficiently per company standards.
• Align the machine with stakes and guidelines on the ground.
• Attach different blades or attachments to equipment.
• Inspect and maintain equipment; perform daily grease/oil checks.

General Summary

Operates tractor equipped with blade attached across front to level subgrade preparatory to constructing roads

Essential Job Accountabilities

• Ability to operate motor grader in a safe and efficient manner per company safety standards.




• Aligning machine, cutterhead or depth gauge marker with reference stakes and guidelines on the ground




• Attaching different blades or attachments to equipment




• Experience with GPS is a plus




• Grading experience is preferred




• Ability to read and understand plans and specifications.




• Conduct equipment inspections, grease, and oil daily to maintain proper working condition.

Education

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent years of experience

Certification

• Proper certification required

Work Experience

• Appropriate training and experience required
