An established industry player is seeking a skilled Motor Equipment Operator III to manage heavy machinery for park maintenance and construction projects. This role involves operating various types of heavy equipment, performing minor repairs, and supervising a team. Performs responsible work by the safe operation of several types of heavy or special purpose motorized equipment used by the County. The MEO III also services and makes minor repairs to the equipment and performs various manual tasks when not operating the equipment. This class differs from that of a MEO II as the employee must have a higher level of skill and knowledge in order to operate more complicated pieces of heavy motor equipment.
Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience Required: Two or more years’ experience operating motorized equipment at the level of a MEO II, with some lead or supervisory experience.
Preferred: Experience with heavy-duty special purpose equipment related to parks maintenance and construction.
Must pass a qualifications test, background check, DMV record review, physical exam, and meet environmental and physical demands as specified.
May lead staff in the absence of the supervisor.
