Positions allocated to this classification report to a designated supervisor and work under general supervision. Work in this class is distinguished from higher classes by its emphasis on motor equipment operation and from lower classes by its highly skilled nature and coordination of other motor equipment operators.
May under-fill as an MEO I/II

Positions allocated to this classification report to a designated supervisor and work under general supervision. Work in this class is distinguished from higher classes by its emphasis on motor equipment operation and from lower classes by its highly skilled nature and coordination of other motor equipment operators.
Depending on area assigned:
Completion of high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma, and three years experience operating heavy equipment, including some lead work or supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience, which provide the required knowledge, ability, and skills.
1A CDL instructional permit may be required at the time of appointment and a CDL License may be required within six months of date of appointment (depending on job assignment and work location).*

Note: CDL-classified vehicles which are not driven on public roadways do not require a CDL license.
